Windows 11 updates from Atlantic Imaging are available for your imaging system. As official support for Windows 10 nears its end on 14th October this year, a number of institutions and university departments have been in contact with us with requests to either confirm that their imaging systems are ready to upgrade to Windows 11 or for us to carry out their computer upgrades. In many cases equipment drivers, microscopes or cameras run on antiquated drivers that are either not supported in Windows, or behave erratically. Before proceeding to an operating system update, it’s essential to know which drivers are supported, which PCIe boards are compatible and which equipment will simply not work. In some cases (often with microscopes), firmware updates are required and these may need to be purchased from the manufacturer. Some companies are also charging for Windows 11-compatible software releases.

Atlantic Imaging are well-placed to offer advice on Windows 11 updates. We are able to verify specification and requirements for an upgrade, liaising with the equipment manufacturer and your local IT department to ensure a satisfactory transfer to the newer operating system. Historically, we have even assisted our end-users with upgrading their operating systems from Mac OS to Windows. As our extensive knowledge-base of non-compliant hardware continues to grow, we will also be very happy to advise on alternative upgrade routes where necessary.

We continue to offer the excellent Volocity acquisition software for all microscope systems and can confirm that Quorum continue to offer a free-of-charge upgrade to Windows 11. Our commitment to maintain and improve expensive confocal systems remains a core part of the Atlantic Imaging business and our support for transfer to Windows 11 is just one of the many services we can offer.
